AI is BS!
Not because the technology is fake.
Not because the results aren’t impressive.
AI is BS because we keep talking about it as if it’s something entirely new.
Every major productivity leap in human history has followed the same pattern:
- Writing extended human memory.
- The printing press extended human knowledge.
- The industrial revolution extended human labor.
- Computers extended human calculation.
- The internet extended human access to information.
- AI extends human pattern recognition and communication.
That’s it.
The problem isn’t the technology. The problem is the mythology surrounding it.
I’ve watched people dismiss AI because it “hallucinates,” while trusting search engines that have been wrong for decades. I’ve watched others claim AI will replace everyone, despite every major technological shift creating new jobs, new industries, and new ways of working.
The real question isn’t:
“Will AI replace us?”
The real question is:
“What happens when average people gain access to tools that previously required teams of specialists?”
As someone who has worked in manufacturing, government, web development, business systems, marketing, and analytics, I’ve learned that every tool eventually becomes ordinary.
Calculators didn’t destroy mathematics.
Spreadsheets didn’t eliminate accountants.
Search engines didn’t eliminate libraries.
And AI won’t eliminate the need for people who can think critically, communicate clearly, and understand what problem they’re actually trying to solve.
AI isn’t magic.
It isn’t consciousness.
It isn’t the end of civilization.
It’s a tool…
A very powerful tool!
And like every tool humanity has ever created, the real value won’t come from the technology itself.
It will come from the people who learn how to use it well.
